Japanese Etegami painting is a traditional art in which people make hand-painted postcards to send greetings to their loved ones. In this workshop, we will learn about this delightful traditional art form, and then experiment by painting 4x6" postcards to send to family and friends. A traditional Etegami card contains a simple image with a few meaningful words. An outline is first drawn in black ink and then colored in using watercolor paints. A relaxing and creative experience for all ages.
Here are some sample images of students work from a recent intergenerational workshop.
